This README.TXT is intended for the DIGITAL DMI 2.0 user.
Its purpose is to provide installation instructions for the 
DMI 2.0 Module.

The DMI 2.0 module provides DMI 2.0 compliance according to the
Desktop Management Interface (DMI) 2.0 Conformance Requirements V1.1a.


unpacking instructions
----------------------

1)  Download accompanying self-extracting zipped file to a convenient 
    working directory.
	
2)  Execute the self-extracting zipped file and interface accordingly 
    to direct the unpacking of the installation kit files to the desired
	directory.
	
3)  Read and follow the Installation instructions below.



Installation instructions
-------------------------


1)  Uninstall ClientWORKS.  If you do not, the DMI 2.0 Module 
    installation procedure will attempt to remove ClientWORKS as part 
    of the installation.

2)  Install the DMI 2.0 Module by running Setup.exe from the kit.  
    On Windows NT, you must be logged into an account with administrator 
    privilege to install and uninstall.

3)  The installation procedure removes the ClientWORKS installed on your 
    system (if you have not already done so), installs the DMI 2.0 
    Service Provider and DIGITAL instrumentation, and starts the 
    DMI 2.0 Services.

4)  After installation is complete, you will see the two new DMI 2.0 
    services in the Windows NT Services window or the Windows 95 Task 
    Manager.  

5)  The DMI 2.0 Module was tested with Intel DMI Explorer V1.11.
