Celebris GL 6xxx Bios Upgrade 1.02 Tech Tip

Problem Description

When Flashing the system bios to version 1.02 using the 
Celebris GL 6xxx System Bios 1.02 on this web site the user 
may get a memory error and a message to recover the system using
the crisis recovery disk.

TechTip Summary

Celebris GL 6xxx BIOS upgrade 1.02 may cause memory error 
and message to use crisis recovery disk.

The cause of the problem is that the boot block jumper J27
needs to be moved to pins 2-3 to enable boot block upgrade.

Solution

Set boot block jumper J27 to pins 2-3 to enable boot block
programming and re-flash the system bios to 1.02

Detailed Implementation Procedure

You can ignore the error message and reboot and all should 
be OK.  A better solution is to follow the below procedure:

1) Shut off system, open case.
2) Locate Boot block jumper J27 on the motherboard.
3) Move the jumper J17 to pins 2-3 to enable boot block upgrade.
4) Close system case.
5) Re-Flash system to BIOS 1.02

All should now be fine.
