Welcome to this month's OpenVMS Alpha Software Products Library
Package.  The September 2004 package includes the changes described in
the following sections.

Full-Kit Software Patches are included on the Software Products Library
=======================================================================     
For some products a "Full-Kit Software Patch" is delivered either as a
replacement or as an additional revision for the currently shipping
software product.  These software patches have been qualified and are
approved for shipment to the Software Products Library audience.
Software patches are identified with an ECO in the Kit Type column.
Details regarding the software patch version are available in each
product's cover letter.  The Full-Kit Software Patch should be handled
as a maintenance release.  If you have questions regarding a Full-Kit
Software Patch, please contact your Service Provider for HP software
products technical support.


Software Products Library offers Web Downloads
==============================================
Web downloads are now offered from our website, http://www1.aclabs.com.

Look for the download link at the individual product level.  For more
details, see Support Options, Download Information on the left
navigation bar:

Software Library customers may use the following information for

The username and password will be updated each quarter.  New username
and password are found in this Cover Letter, available in hardcopy and
on consolidated CD-ROM disk 1 in the [README] directory.

System Tools CD
===============
The System Tools CD that is included with the Software Products Library
contains diagnosis and supporting software, for example WEBES and
DECevent, for use by HP's service engineers and HP's Authorized Service
Provider service engineers.  The software and associated documentation
on this CD are for use on systems that have hardware warranty, a
service contract, or service obligation.
                                   
The System Tools CD and associated web pages may contain new diagnosis
software that is applicable to the system and should be reviewed for
the most recent updates to the diagnosis tools.

Mature Product Support Program
==============================
HP offers a Mature Product Support service for products that are
functionally complete, stable, and have no new versions planned for
release.

After products have entered the Mature Product Support Program they
will continue to ship on the Software Products Libraries.


Software Compatibility Matrix
=============================
Please refer to the Software Compatibility Matrix or Software Product
Description for Operating System Support information.  The Software
Compatibility Matrix shows the minimum and maximum Operating System
versions supported by each software product on the Software Products
Library.  This matrix is located on disc 1 in the following file:

Licensing Information
=====================
A valid software product license is required to access and use each
software product on the Software Products Library.  The subscription
service, "Consolidated Distribution and Documentation Service,"
requires the customer to purchase either a Service Contract that
provides the rights to use new versions of software or to purchase the
appropriate Software Update License for each version.
