Connecting a modem directly to an Alpha

Hello OSF Managers --

We would like to do some testing on slip software, and want to attach a
modem directly to our Alpha 3300. (The only open port on the Alpha is
the printer port.) Is there a way to do this? If so, is any special
software needed on the Alpha?
