Has anybody used the DEC OSF/1 ADVFS clonefs command to
create a read only quick backup of an Oracle 7 (7.1.3)
database. The Oracle database would be 'up' while the
clonefs is being done, with the Oracle tablespaces put into
BACKUP mode, to allow the backup to be made.
We would be very interested to find out whether this works,
and peoples experiences with this, or comments. This feature
could be critical to the backup method we use for our
databases, so any information would be invaluable. Version
of OSF is 2.0b.
