OSF-Managers,
Thanks for everyone who responded to my request for help with configuring an
Advanced File System disk. Here is the resolution in summary:
1. If you are running OSF 3.2 you should install AFAADVANCED320, AFAADVMAN320,
AFAADVGUI320 which should be available on the latest complimentary products
CD-ROM. Thanks Michael Long, for pointing this problem out. After performing
the upgrade, proceeded through the rest of the instructions.
2. Don't run "newfs" on a advfs file system. Good advice..
3. disklabel -wr -t advfs /dev/rrz3 RZ28; then perform the mkfdmn, mkfset and
mount
4. Check the /etc/fstab to update the change to advfs instead of ufs.
Things worked out fine after upgrading and following the advice given by several
of you. Thanks once again.
Regards,
Conrad Ribeiro
