Uh. Still trying to fathom what is going on with sendmail here. I'm
trying to understand one simple thing right now. Why I have no PID for
sendmail, despite running it with a -bd. Things seem to work pretty
well, but I think something is scrogged in a way I don't get at all.
Many thanks to everyone who has reponded so far to this sort of
continuing inquiry. In essence, I'd been using the syntax that everyone
had suggested, and it was Bob Sloane, an old friend from KU, who noted
that I ought to kill the PID using
kill 'head -1 /etc/sendmail.pid'
(because this is v8?)
No pid! What the heck is going on here? :)
