Original Post:
I'm trying to setup an Apple II Laserwriter printer (serial) to a AXP 3600
running OSF 3.0. I attached the printer to the 25 pin serial connection on
the back of the box. I ran lprsetup using the system admin manual defaults
but can't get the printer to work. When I try to print everything looks
normal on the Alpha. Postscript files take a minute or so in the spool area
before "finishing" but nothing goes to the printer and no errors are getting
logged. I'm using the /dev/tty01 port (it's not being used for anything else).

Answer:
Setup the printer as lno3r and not unknown. Now it works.

Is the printer set to use the port as a serial connection or appletalk? Is the baud
rate correct. Usually you csn run lprsetup and claim the laserwriter is an ln03r and
it should work. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
