We are considering tp purchase 2 AlphaStation 255/300 Windows NT
workstations. The graphics accelerator we plan to get with it is the
8-plane PCI PowerStorm 3D30 card. My question is, without knowing what the
back panel of an AlphaStation 255 looks like and talpha-osfhe type of
monitor connection exists, can we go with something other than what Digital
is providing? They are quoting us a 21" Diamondtron CRT with 1600 x 1200
at 75 Hz for a price of $2,995.00. I have bought 21" monitors in the past
for PC systems at a much lesser price with specs similar to what Digital is
providing. What do I need to look for if I want to get a monitor
elsewhere? I want to make sure the graphics card is a good match for the
monitor. Any suggestions on specific monitors as well, would be
appreciated.
