Hi,
This message is to call everyones attention to a serious DECTHREADS bug in
Digital Unix 4.0.
The bug manifests itself with a "segmentation violation" (SEGV) in the
fork() system call.
DEC has a patch available which fixes this OSF400-0037. It looks like
this patch fixes a bunch of other issues as well.
Anyone running DU 4.0 should strongly consider installing this patch <IMHO>.
Anyone considering an upgrade should look into this patch <IMHO>.
