Hello Managers,
I received a number of responses regarding the best setup for swap. I think
I can summarize it best by saying that 2 to 3 times is a good rule but not
manditory. If your running large applications you can end up needing as much
as 5 or 6 times the amount of physical memory in swap but only in cases where
RAM is not abundant. If RAM is plentiful and swap usage is down there is no
reason to increase the amount of swap.
Thanks to all those who replied!
Special Thanks to: Cliff Krieger, Alan Rollow, and Jean-Loup Risler
