Q: "Cannot convert string *** to type FontStruct"

I have a problem with loading fonts under CDE. Users running X
applications get lots of warnings like this:

Warning: Cannot convert string "dt-interface
user-medium-r-normal-m*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion

Any solutions/ideas of how to fix this problem?
