Hi
We installed a single tz87 at a remote site, which replaced an 8mm
unit. Now when we put a new tape in the unit ( straight out of the
shrink wrap ) this happens

If our operators do a label operation with this tape, it starts and
then waits for the tape to have some free space to put the label
onto ( i.e. never ). If I stop and start nsr, the nsrmmd process will
not die, and the server has to be rebooted to clear it.
If I tar a directory to the tape from the command line, it starts,
then immediately asks me to put a second volume in to the drive and
type "go". If I type go with the first tape, the tar continues fine
with the "second" volume and completes. Then nsr works fine with the
tape ( apart from the error messages :)

Any ideas as to why this would be happening? We have similar
configurations working fine at other sites, using tapes from the same
suppiler.
