This isn't really a question or problem - I just noticed something in the recent
posting about PolyCenter Console Manager. The author mentioned the
"soon-to-be-released" Digital Unix V5.0. Just today we concluded some very
successful onsite consulting work with TruCluster gurus from Digital ...err...
Compaq. I asked specifically about DUnix V5.0 and was told it is due for
release in Fall of 1999 and at that time should be rebranded to something other
than "Digital Unix". DUnix V4.0e is to be released later on this year. No word
on how that will be an improvement. DUNIX V5.0 is also scheduled to do away
with the ASE portion of TruCluster. All disks and therefore all services will
be available on all TruCluster nodes simultaneously ala OpenVMS Clusters with
the distributed lock manager and connection manager.
