Hi all,
By default, 'dxpause' (as used with xdm) does not allow entry of the root
password to disable the screen lock. This can be allowed by editing the
line:
        *.rootPasswd: false
to
        *.rootPasswd: true
in the file '/usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/DXsession'. However, this has two
problems:
  1) User can change the lock settings in his/her .Xdefaults
  2) Untrust worthy users could write a false 'dxpause' programming
gaining the root password. Luckily, I can trust my users not to
do this... but it is worth thinking about.
Is there anyway of over ruling the user's .Xdefaults ??
Under DUV4.0b, what is the equivalent to 'dxpause'?
Regards,
Rich
