Dear All

We are running DU 4.0b on an 8400. We have oracle 7.3.2 with all the
data on HSZ50-attached disks amounting to about 200G.

We have been using multiple oracle database writers up to now for
performance reasons. However, due to a bug in oracle 7.3.3, we cannot
upgrade and still use this feature. To get round the problem oracle
have suggested using async IO instead and sticking with a single
     database writer.

My questions are: can anyone point me towards a description of the
differences between sync and async IO under DU. Also, has anyone else
had similar advice from oracle and if so did it make any difference?

     Many thanks in advance
