*Note* Intermediate Admin newbie at oracle. :}
Hi Managers,
I'm not sure we're configuring our systems properly for oracle and I'm
wondering if you can offer some insight... We're running an oracle database
on a 4100 dual 5/466 w/ 1GB memory running D.U 3.2F and about 160+ users.
1) What is the O.S. block size? I assume it's the page size of 8K
2) Any recommendations as far as parameters that need tweaking?
Right now Oracle has recommended the following:
shmmni 100
semmns 250
shmmax 16777216
shmseg 10
I notice that in sysconfig the shmmni parameter gets set to 128 instead of 100.
Is that a minimum?
Any other comments/suggestions are more than welcome!!
