Lost CDE window

I upgraded an AS2100 to firmware 5.3 and now I have lost the graphics
console on bootup.

here's the message:

vmunix: no graphics console driver configured
vmunix: generic console support installed: using VGA


The only error I encountered during the upgrade was an invalid EISA
configuration, I ran ECU 1.11a and that fixed that problem.

Ideas?
