Convert XL233 from Alpha NT to T64 - SRM prompt?

I have an Alphastation XL233 (without a manual) that is currently running Alpha NT. I know I need to set the OS TYPE to Unix at the SRM prompt. How can I trigger SRM on boot up to set os type to unix? Currently the system boots into NT. Once I get switched to Unix I can upgrade firmware.
