Thanks to;
Chris Cook
Debra LaGattuta
  for their help.
Chris suggested merely compressing the files and leaving them in place. He
mentioned trying "xdU' to give a GUI-like graphical interpretation of the
files. I have no "xdu" on my servers and have asked him for more info.
Debra told me exactly what the files are for, which I already knew, but she
also agreed that the files could be truncated leaving just the most recent
entries in each file. I'll most likely truncate the files to gain a bit of
room.
  I'm still trying to determine why the filesystem filled up so quickly to
begin with. No runaway processes were found. I had installed TIVadsm on
the box which defaulted it's installation to /usr. I may reinstall setting
the install directory to /tools or something off rootvg.
Thanks for the help folks. I really appreciate it!
