SUMMARY: syslogd_at_hostname wall messages.

All,

        Thanks to Bob Bumpus, Pat O'Brien, Jim Ritzmaurice, Gary Phipps, Dr.
Thomas Blinn, Jem Treadwell, Sue Blake, Robert Mulley, and anyone I missed
for resoponding. By committing out the line *emerg * in
the /etc/syslog.conf file the wall message stopped.

Hi, we are running a # hwmgr -scan scsi on tru64 5.1 machine and everyone
who is logged on is getting this message on the screen:
Message from syslogd_at_intrepid at Thu May 31 09:10:30 2001 ...
intrepid vmunix: nil>
Any ideas as to why it is happening?
