Tapping the brains of the group... my company was bought last July and the
corporate headquarters was moved from St. Louis to Durham, NC. Good for me
because I'm in Durham <grin>... Now I need to combine the two WANS into
one. Simple enough and I have the circuits in place. I have a 3Mb frame
port here at the hub site and various ports and PVCs going to 7 other sites.
There is a Cisco 7507 router in STL that I need here in Durham to be the
hub router. But to move that router here I need to swap in equivilent
routing capacity for a short time, say 4 weeks. When everything is done
I'll only need a router sufficient for a T1.5 circuit in STL.
I need to beg/borrow/rent/lease router(s) to handle the load that the 7507
is currently handling so I can get that beast here. I've been working this
problem for two months. I've tried various vendors with whom I have a long
term relationship, SunDisco (my new name for the Sungard/Comdisco entity),
Sprint and even Cisco with no luck.
Any ideas on where I score a router(s) for a short period of time? Note
that it doesn't have to be a 7507, I'd accept numerous smaller routers. I
just need to handle the current WAN load in STL for a little while.
