Hello all,
I have an AlphaStation 255/233 which has begun crashing and leaving no
record of doing so other than halt code=7 and "machine check while in PAL
mode" on the console screen. No crash dump. Nothing in the messages
file. Nothing in the binlog. The hardware person I spoke with wanted me
to contact software support to help me check if this machine is setup
properly to capture crash dumps. I cannot recall doing anything to tell
this machine not to capture a crash. What should I be looking for to be
sure this thing is set up to do that. Tru64 5.1A. No other patches
yet. I'll be trying to the software folks later today after I get other
things rolling here and contact the central ESL support folks to get the
way to do this. Fortunately, this is a "testing" system so time is not a
critical factor. TIA.
