We have a Digital AlphaStation 500 running Tru64 version 4.0e that recently
lost access to the network. We have done some checking and the port the
machine is connected to is active and working. Also, the IP address,
routers, and DNS servers are also active and working. We determined this
by hooking a PC up to the port with the same IP address, gateway router,
etc. and the PC was able to connect to the network. We have tried
restarting the network services, both through the GUI and the following
command:
#rcinet restart
While restarting we receive the following error message:
writing to routing socket: Invalid argument
add host 128.xx.xxx.x: ioctl returns 22
Invalid argument
We have also tried rebooting the whole machine from the console prompt and
get the same error. What does this error mean and how do we fix it? Any
other suggestions on things to try would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark
