Thnx to Dr. Tom Blinn....i went ahead and removed ALL
the MME and O3DD subsets...then i was able to upgrade
without any problem.
I did not have to manually re-install them after...and
all is OK, so they were never needed in this
configuration. to begin with.

The Elsa Gloria graphics card is not supported by the
Open3D or MME stuff; the Multimedia Services would be
sound card support, if you don't use sound with that
system then it's not doing anything useful, if you do
use sound, you'll need to find the MME software kit
for V4.0G (I *think* that's on the AP CD in the V4.0G
media kit, but it might only be on a layered products
CD from around the time V4.0G was released) and load
it after the update. MME has kernel modules and that
makes it mandatory you remove it; Open3D has the same
but you may not have successfully installed it in the
first place.
