Thanks to everyone for the quick response to my original question which I reproduced below:
Dear Managers:
We are now going to be upgrading from 5.1a on our Alphas to 5.1b. What is
required for this? Do I need the CD's and also the latest firmware CDs?
Also does anyone know what patches are required to bring 5.1b up to the
latest patch level?

The consensus is that I will need the lastest firmware update CD (6.5 or 6.6), latest release is v5.1b-1, and the CD with PK-3 on it which is the latest patches. I will also need a considerable amount of downtime.
