BG90101.TXT File Information Starion 200-300 BIOS 1.01 Upgrade This TEXT file contains the following information: 1) Instructions for upgrading the Starion 200/300 system BIOS 2) Instructions for installing the INTEL PENTIUM OVERDRIVE PROCESSOR (P24T - 63Mhz or 83Mhz) NOTE: The BIOS upgrade is necessary prior to installing the Intel Pentium Overdrive Processor. 1) BIOS UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS: Download the file BG90101.EXE into a temporary directory. This file is a self-extracting archive file, type the name of the file from the DOS prompt or double click on the filename from File Manager. When this file is run, it will expand to the below files: DOSIMAGE.EXE DOSIMAGE.DOC TEMP.IMG LICENSE.TXT Insert a blank, formatted floppy into drive A. For the next step you will need to be in DOS and in the directory where these files are located. From the DOS prompt type: dosimage restore temp.img a: (this is case sensitive - use lower case) The DOSIMAGE program will now create a bootable BIOS upgrade diskette. Now, reboot the system with this newly created upgrade disk; the PHLASH utility will automatically begin the install process. Follow the instructions and when asked to continue, answer YES (or OK). Reboot the system and ensure that the upgrade was installed properly prior to installing the Intel Pentium Overdrive Processor upgrade. 2) INTEL PENTIUM OVERDRIVE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (see page 4-12 of the User's Guide) a) Upgrade BIOS to BIOS 1.01 (see above) b) Power the system down and remove the cover (see Section 4 of the User's Guide for instructions). c) Next, turn to Apendix A, page A-7 and A-8 for the location of the Main Logic Board Jumper Locations. You will need to change the jumper settings from the AMD setting to "OTHER" or "P24T" settings (EXCEPT FOR J9 WHICH STAYS THE SAME).
