DIGITAL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION FACT SHEET Product Name: DECpc MT System Family Overview: The DECpc MT family is comprised of three 80486 models that feature highly expandable "small tower" packaging. Each can accommodate multiple devices for specialized applications such as multimedia. In addition, these new models provide superior Windows video performance (Windows runs up to four times faster than on ordinary PCs) with additional expansion for custom applications as well as LAN servers. The DECpc MT systems were designed and manufactured by Digital as a superset of the DECpc LP family. The MT systems are fully industry-standard PCs that are upgradeable from 486DX to 486DX2 processors. This is made possible because all three systems have a dedicated vacancy socket that provides an industry-standard path for processor upgrades. The new family provides the power of a deskside PC in a compact, rack-mountable, micro-tower enclosure that's a third the size of many similarly equipped deskside systems. Onboard local bus video, VRAM video memory, and dedicated Graphical User Interface (GUI) acceleration enables exceptional video graphics speed. The DECpc MT's also support RAM expansion up to 64MB and expandable cache. With these features built into the system's motherboard, all slots and ports are available for options. The DECpc MT Family includes: o DECpc 433dx MT -- features the Intel 80486DX processor operating at 33MHz, vacancy socket, 8KB internal cache, and 128KB external cache (expandable to 256KB). o DECpc 450d2 MT -- features the Intel 80486DX2 processor operating at 50MHz, vacancy socket, 8KB internal cache, and 128KB external cache (expandable to 256KB). o DECpc 466d2 MT -- features the Intel 80486DX2 processor operating at 66MHz, vacancy socket, 8KB internal cache, and 128KB external cache (expandable to 256KB).
