Modem Settings ----------------------------- To change settings: % This will cycle through each setting. Press to accept the current setting, or press the number offered for a different setting. ========================================================================== Whatever you do, DO NOT change the character length setting of the Scholar modem. If you've seen the modem's setup (by typing "%" at the ready prompt), one of the settings is the character length. This is set to 10 bits. Most everyone sees this and says "Hey, I'm using 8-bits, not 10, so I'll change that." Then they can't use their modem... The character length setting is the total character length, not the number of data bits. The easiest thing is not to muck with the setup on the modem. If you do have to look at setup, though, don't change this setting!
