protect you investment.  They use a GUI (Graphical User Interface) 
accelerator on the local bus to draw graphics at lightning speed.  Their 
modular daughtercards support a variety of industry standard PC processors, 
and their industry standard "Vacancy Socket" supports OverDrive upgrades.  
These features are built in -- along with disk controllers, ports, and RAM 
support --leaving the three expansion slots truly usable for options.  Yet 
these upgradable systems are competitively priced.  

Optimized for Windows 

The minute you load a graphical application on an upgradable DECpc LP, 
you'll notice the difference. Windows snap open, applications switch 
instantly, and graphics respond much faster. This extra speed comes from 
all-new video design, including:
o Local bus video: A full-speed, 32-bit bus connects video directly to the 
  processor.  This design not only bypasses the 16-bit 8-MHz ISA bus; it 
  also frees the ISA bus for faster access by peripherals.
o GUI accelerator: A dedicated chip speeds scrolling, filling, cursor, and 
  other graphics functions identified by Microsoft as critical for Windows.
o High resolution: On-board SVGA supports up to 1024 x 768, non-interlaced, 
  with 16 colors standard (up to 256 optional). Refresh rates up to 72Hz 
  reduce eyestrain.
