Software Product Description ___________________________________________________________________ PRODUCT NAME: HP Reliable Transaction Router Version 4.2 for 82.33.01 Linux Frontend DESCRIPTION HP Reliable Transaction Router (RTR) is fault tolerant transactional messaging middleware used to implement large, distributed applications using client/server technology. This version of Reliable Transaction Router enables enterprises to deploy distributed applications on Linux[R] frontend/client systems. On the Linux operating system, only the client tier is supported. On the Linux operating system, RTR can be used as a frontend (that is, for client support) in an RTR application network. It is used in con- junction with RTR backend and router nodes running on other supported operating systems to create a distributed, fault-tolerant application network. License Types Reliable Transaction Router for Linux Frontend has one frontend li- cense type. RTR is not supported or licensed on Linux in a backend or router role. The Frontend license provides client application functionality only. Frontend Features o Provides the ability for the client to start transaction branches, where the global transaction may be controlled by RTR. o Provides the necessary environment to run Reliable Transaction Router client applications under Linux as part of a Reliable Transaction Router application network (facility). o Provides client functionality in a production environment. Reliable Transaction Router applications can be written using the C or C++ compiler that comes with the Linux systems on which RTR is sup- ported, or with Java[TM] Version 1.3.1. Java applications can be de- veloped on a Reliable Transaction Router Linux, OpenVMS Alpha or Win- dows system with the Reliable Transaction Router Java Toolkit. C++ ap- plications can be developed on a Linux, Reliable Transaction Router OpenVMS Alpha, Windows, Tru64 UNIX, or Sun Solaris system; C appli- cations can be developed on any Reliable Transaction Router system.
