OpenVMS is Ready for the Year 2000!

In 1997, we investigated and tested the OpenVMS operating system
for the year 2000 and beyond. No problems were found in any
simulations and our investigations uncovered only a very few minor
limitations in several older and rarely used components.

We are pleased to announce that all of the OpenVMS Year 2000
enhancement kits are now available. Kits are available for
OpenVMS Version 7.1, Version 6.2, and Version 5.5-2. All of
the enhancements in these kits have been integrated into
OpenVMS Version 7.1-2 and OpenVMS Version 7.2. If you are
running another version of OpenVMS, we suggest you upgrade
to one of these supported versions so that you can relax
with us and truly celebrate the coming of the Year 2000!

For details about the OpenVMS Year 2000 Initiative and our findings,
and for information on how you can test your own environment, check
