Assistance switching to ARC (AlphaBIOS)?

» close window

The Question is:

We are trying to switch an AS1000 4/200 (P/N PB70A-A9)
from openvms to NT 4.0. System firmware is as follows:
SRM v5.2-101
ARC 4.56
We used ECU 1.11 for NT but the system constantly gives
following error:
"The firmware has found that some information in the NVRAM
of your machine is inconsistent"
We are following the procedures of the manual. What could be
the problem?

Thank You

The Answer is :

Please contact the customer support center for assistance -- the area
of the NT firmware (the ARC or AlphaBIOS) is well outside the typical
  realm of the OpenVMS Wizard.

This particular firmware message often includes additional information
on what was found to be inconsistent -- items that the firmware can
find on various Alpha systems include areas such as the system time
value and the EISA bus configuration.

The customer support center will need to know the particular hardware
configuration -- which I/O widgets, etc -- of this system.

  Based on ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/Digital/Alpha/firmware/index.html,
ARC V4.56 appears to be the current NT firmware release for the
  AlphaServer 1000 4/xxx series systems.
