DDP and LAT?

» close window

The Question is:

I a WAN engineer who works with Cisco Routers. I have
a task to get rid of unknown routers that are supporting
LAT, and migrate the LAT network onto the Cisco Routers.
I know Cisco supports Lat, however, the users are now more
specific and they use the term DDP. Which they say is
like LAT. DDP to me is Datagram Delivery Protocal used for
Apple. My question is, is DDP another DEC protocal?
If so, where can I find info. Everytime I do a DDP search
Apple related items come up? Thanks

The Answer is :

Why not ask your users for more details? (They certainly seem rather
knowledgable in the network protocols they are currently using, and
are certainly more familiar with their local network activity than the
  OpenVMS Wizard will be.)

LAT and DDP are not particularly related protocols.

DDP (Datagram Delivery Protocol) is a protocol used on Apple systems,
typically in conjunction with AppleTalk networks. Implementations of
DDP on OpenVMS systems do exist.

DDP is also the name of a network protocol used with MUMPS on OpenVMS.

Again, why not ask your users for more details?
