TZ30, TK50, TK70?

The Question is:

1. What is the difference between TZ30, TK50 and TK70 ?
2. Can TZ30 read / write to TK50 / TK70 ?
3. My TZ30 shows any TK50 directory entry two times !?!

Thanks to the wizard !

The Answer is :

The TZ30 and TK50 are compatible CompacTape DLT drives, with the former
being a full-height drive with several interfaces, and the latter being
  a half-height drive with a SCSI interface.

The TK70 drive is read-compatible with tapes written in the TZ30 and TK50
tape drives. The TK70 writes a higher-density tape format, a format that
is incompatible with TZ30 and TK50 tapes.

  To reuse a tape written by a TK70 (or higher-density drive) in a TZ30
or TK50, the tape medium must be bulk-degaussed. Use of media designed
for lower-density tape drives in higher-density drives is not recommended.

The Wizard recommends the use of CD-ROM or CD-R media for distribution
and similar purposes -- please see the OpenVMS FAQ for details on CD-R
  on OpenVMS.

The reason that you are seeing the file entries twice likely involves the
use of a search list logical name -- such as SYS$SYSTEM, SYS$MANAGER, and
similar -- during the operation. When wildcard searches are requested,
defaults are applied for each translation in the default directory, and
this can result in seeing multiple files. Reset the default device and
directory -- SET DEFAULT -- to a specification that does not involve a
  search list logical name.
