The Question is:

 
I am upgrading my VMS from version 6.1 to version 7.1.  Is there anything I
should be aware of with this upgrade?  Or is there somewhere I can look for
problems others have experienced while doing this upgrade?

  Please note that this particular question has been asked a number of
  times before -- and without far more specific information on the exact
  hardware and software configuration, it is not possible to provide you
  with any specific comments.  OpenVMS Engineering has performed extensive
  testing, and expects the operating system will function correctly at the
  vast majority of sites, and will resolve problems that are encountered
  in supported configurations -- though it is possible that sites with
  specific (but not known) software and/or hardware combinations may
  experience unforseen problems.
 
  For comments from customers on OpenVMS V7.1, please see the DECUS notes
  conferences (URL below), as well as checking the comp.os.vms newsgroup
  and newsgroup archives (URL below), and the INFO-VAX archives mentioned
  in the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).  For layered product
  version information, see the software rollout (URL below.)
 
  What you will need to know to perform the upgrade and afterwards is
  included in the OpenVMS manuals, particularly the upgrade, release notes,
  and the new features manuals.  Available upgrade path information is
  included in the upgrade manuals and in the OpenVMS FAQ.  You will want
  to read the release notes and new features manuals for each intervening
  upgrade, as well.
 
  Information on specific ECO kits that are considered required or are
  recommended are available via DSN/DSNlink and via the customer support
  center.  ECO kits can be acquired via the quarlerly ECO distribution,
  via the patch area website (URL below), and via the folks at the
  customer support center.
