VAXstation 3100 monitor compatibility?

» close window

The Question is:

Not really a VMS related question, but I cannot
find an answer any place else.

I have a VAXstation 3100/30 and a Digital Equipment
Monitor model VRM17-HA.

Do you know if these two pieces are compatible
and if so, is there a specific cable that is
required to connect them? The two that I have
don't seem to work.

The Answer is :

Typical VAXstation 3100 series monochrome cables: BC23K, BC18P-10.
Typical color and greyscale cables: BC19S, BC23J-03.

The VRM17 monitor will *probably* work (with the correct color cable) with
the VAXstation 3100 series GPX controller resolution of 1024 by 864 at 60Hz.
The SPX controller is also available, supporting 1280 by 1024 at 66 Hz.

Information on VAXstation systems and hardware is available at websites
referenced by the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Assuming the correct cable, the Wizard would not expect to damage the
monitor in this configuration, even if the resolutions do not match.
