BACKUP savesets corrupted via TCP/IP (UCX) FTP?

» close window

The Question is:

Using UCX ver.4.2 (with ECO x?x), I ftp to a mVAX 3100 from a PC (NT WS 4.0.
Using this session, I get a VMS/Backup save-set to the PC (I plan to archive
it to a CD) - but when 'put' the save set back to the mVAX the file
attributes have changed and Back
up gives me a CRC error when I try to list the save set. I have ensured
that my FTP session is in BINARY/IMAGE mode.

Thanks for listening .... .

The Answer is :

  The Freeware command procedure RESET_BACKUP_SAVESET_ATTRIBUTES.COM,
referenced in the OpenVMS FAQ, may be useful here.

Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance,
if the above procedure does not restore the saveset attributes
sufficiently for BACKUP to access the file.
