TCP/IP (UCX) NFS file duplication?

» close window

The Question is:

We want to exchange files between OpenVms and Nt. We use th NFS service.
Alpha server is Nfs client , Nt server is NFS server.
When we effect a transfert from Nfs client to Nfs server and that the file
does not exit in the target --> OK.
But if th file already exist in the target, the file is well transfered,
next few seconds after, it create a third file. Could you help me ?

The Answer is :

NFS is not a file transfer facility, it is a network file service
package -- while the data is made available to remote nodes and the
contents of files can be read or written by the clients, the file
itself resides on the NFS server.

Check for available ECOs for the TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS (UCX)
package, and for the NFS package in use on the Windows NT system.

As an alternative, configure the OpenVMS system as the NFS server
and the Windows NT system as the client, and see if the problem
  occurs in this configuration.

If unable to resolve the problem, please contact the Compaq customer
support center (if you are using the TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS (UCX)
package) or contact the vendor of the third-party IP package directly.

When contacting the support organization, expect to be asked the
particular version, as well as specific examples of the problem being
reported, and expect to be asked to apply the current appropriate ECO
kit for the UCX version in use.
