SYSGEN and SYSUAF parameters for large malloc call

» close window

The Question is:

Hi Wizard,

I'm trying to malloc some large data areas (several 16 Mbyte arrays) on an
Alpha 4100 running OPENVMS 7.1. The malloc is returning a NULL pointer. My
questions:
1. Are there sysgen parameters I need to verify that are required to open
these areas? If so what are they?

2. Are there AUTHORIZE paramters that I need to verify and if so, what are
they?

3. Are there any other parameters that need to be checked?

My programs do run, when they allocate substantually smaller data areas.
However, I started to get into trouble when I used larger areas. I not a
system administrator, but I've been playing one on this project.

Thanks,

John
