Using SET PROMPT?

» close window

The Question is:

If I reset the system prompt with the Set Prompt command, then reboot and
log back in - will my new prompt still be in effect or will it return to the
default?

If default - How can I make it stay with my new prompt each time?

The Answer is :

SET PROMPT effects only the prompt used for the current process.

The desired value must be established when each process is logged
in, and after a system reboot.

To retain the desired value across reboots, place the SET PROMPT
command in the individual user's LOGIN.COM procedure, or make it
available to all users via the system-wide SYLOGIN.COM procedure.
