Seeking information on SCSI?

The Question is:

I'm looking for a internet resource that can help give understanding to
errors in the error log using ANALYZE/ERRO and DIAGNOSE. I'm currently
looking at "Extended Sense Data from Device" but want to understand what it
means.

The Answer is :

What you will need is information on the SCSI specifications -- the
OpenVMS Wizard hesitates to use the word "standard" in conjunction with
SCSI -- for the SCSI interface, and information specific to the SCSI
implementation within the particular SCSI device.

The extended sense data is the result of a host SCSI request for the
(and there is no particular surprise here) extended sense data from
  the particular SCSI widget.

Start with the SCSI information and the references to the ANSI SCSI
specifications present in the OpenVMS I/O User's Reference Manual:

http://www.openvms.digital.com:8000/72final/6136/6136pro_027.html#scsi_chap11
