How do I add images to the available backdrops in the CDE style manager?

The Answer is :

 
  The DECwindows CDE backdrops directory is:
 
    SYS$COMMON:[CDE$DEFAULTS.SYSTEM.BACKDROPS]
 
  The .bm suffix indicates a bitmap file, and .pm indicates a pixmap.
 
  Folks also commonly use the decw$utils:xsetroot.exe tool to set the
