PC file transfers?

» close window

The Question is:

Current setup: PC's emulating VT's. Connecting to Alpha using DecServer 90L.
Since the VT emulator we use has no way of transfering files, could we
launch kermit via the emulator, and dump files locally to the PC?

Will Pathworks run under DOS, and support LAT?
(Serial connect via 90L). Will it fit on a 1.4 MB floppy?

The Answer is :

You have provided limited information to work with, but the Wizard
will attempt to provide you with some guidelines.

PATHWORKS for DOS/Windows V6.0a is available for desktops running
MS-DOS, MS-Windows, or Windows for Workgroups. For a description
of features provided (including the VT320 terminal emulator),
    please see http://www.openvms.digital.com/pathworks/spds.htm

PATHWORKS 32 V7.1a is available for desktops running Windows 95,
Windows 98, or Windows NT V4.0. For a description of features
provided (including the PowerTerm terminal emulator), please
    see http://www.openvms.digital.com/pathworks/spds.htm

If your desktop system has a network connection and one of the
    above products, you can:
    - connect to your Alpha (OpenVMS) system using LAT, Telnet, or
CTERM for terminal emulation (assuming, of course, that the
OpenVMS system is running the appropriate transport protocol).
    - transfer files using the Network File Transfer Utility (NFTW)
      over DECnet.
