Problems with LAT, DECforms, and SET TERMINAL?

» close window

The Question is:

We recently had an Update from VMS 5.5 to 6.2 with Y2K patches. Now our
application is unable to set up a DEcForms session because the allocated
port LTA8886 on server LAT003 port 6 cannot be set to the appropriate
characteristics using 'set term'. We rec
eive the error message 'data set hang-up'. This message usually occurs when
the port is in use, but how can it be in use after it has been allocated by
the process? Is it no longer possible to use a terminal server port for
printing with DECForms?? Only w
hen the terminal type is set to 'unknown' the terminal can be set without
error messages. But we need the terminal type be set to "VT300".
Any solutions to ouer problem?

The Answer is :

Please acquire and apply any relevent network driver and LAT ECO kits, for
any DECforms ECOs or upgrades, and -- if the problems persist -- please
contact the Compaq Customer Support Center directly.

Information on the specific settings for the SET TERMINAL used, as well
as the settings for the DECserver port, as well as the DECserver firmware
version in use, as well as the DECforms version, as well as the DECform
call(s) in use will very likely be required to resolve this.
