OpenVMS on AlphaStation XP1000?

The Question is:

 
Is OpenVMS going to be ported to the XP-1000?
If so when?

The Answer is :

 
  Evaluation and testing of OpenVMS on the AlphaStation XP1000 workstation
  is presently underway, and full support is expected upon (the successful)
  completion of this effort.  With the present schedule and experience,
  support for the platform is expected during or prior to October 1999.
 
  The following ECO kits (when available) are expected to be required for
  support of OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 on the AlphaStation XP1000:
 
    VMS712_UPDATE-V0300 kit
    VMS712_LAN-V0100 kit
 
  On OpenVMS Alpha V7.2-1:
 
     VMS721_LAN-V0100 kit
