» close window

The Question is:

We are trying to print to a Canon Imagerunner 400 witha a fiery multi pdl
board. we can ping the address from the alpha but we get "LPD Retrying
failed job: UCX$PRINTCAP Number: 5 User: NCS Status: %SYSTEM-F-LINK
DISCON, network partner disconnected logical link" when we send a print job
to it. When I do a sho queue on it I get :
$ sho queue invest
Server queue INVEST, idle, on AF1107::, mounted form DEFAULT

  Entry Jobname Username Blocks Status
  ----- ------- -------- ------ ------

The Answer is :

LINKDISCON typically indicates the Printer disconnected unexpectedly.

Please first move to TCP/IP Services V4.2 with the current ECO, or to
  V5.0A or later.

Check the reconnection back-off support referenced elsewhere here in
Ask The Wizard (topics 101, 817, 1520, 1686), as some printers can
  have problems with quick reconnections.

Failing that, please contact the customer support center and ask that
the problem be investigated further, and escalated to engineering if
  necessary.
