Tranceiver loopback error?

The Question is:

 
What are the possible solutions for a DECserver 200 routing via a repeater
which is producing the following errors:-
"Transceiver loopback error"
"Image Load not attempted"
 
 

The Answer is :

 
  This is not an OpenVMS question, please contact the Compaq customer
  support center directly -- you will need to resolve the existing
  network error, and this involves details of the system, the network
  controller, the network transceiver, and the repeater involved.
