DE500 NIC configuration?

» close window

The Question is:

I am trying to replace a DE435 10Mb NIC with a DE500 10/100 NIC on a 4100
system. I am not an experienced System Manager and find myself lost. There
were no drivers/patches shipped with the board and simply swapping the
boards doesn't work. Is the DE500 s
upported on V6.2-1h3? Do I need new drivers/patches? Is there a Dummies
Guide to replacing a NIC?

Thanks for any help!

The Answer is :

Please contact your hardware support organization for assistance.

Depending on which particular DE500 variant is involved, yes, there
can be an ECO kit or minimum version required. Typical variants
include the DE500-AA, the DE500-BA, the DE500-FA, and the DE500-XA.

DE500-XA support is included in OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3, while the
ALPBOOT13_062 (or later) and ALPLAN05_062 (or later) kits are two
of the more common ECO kits involved with the DE500-AA, DE500-BA,
and DE500-FA support on this release.
