Seeking CDA Converter Libraries?

The Question is:

Hello -

I'm a biologist, and have been using DEC equipment for years. In
particular, I've been writing papers in DecWrite. Now, most journals
want electronic copies of papers, in formats they can read. This means
Microsoft Word, or RTF. So, I have to somehow move all my text. I have
DecWrite on Unix, VMS, and PC. The Unix and VMS versions can't output
anything useful - the only formats I see under the "export" menu are
DX and ANLS. The PC version does have RTF and WORD5, but the WORD5
files it supposedly produces can't be opened by Word! And the RTF
files which the PC version have random pieces missing, believe it or not.
So, I have a couple of questions:
1) do you know what company DecWrite was sold to?
I can't seem to find out from anyone at Compaq.

2) I've been told that the DEC CDA converter library can
output DecWrite files into some reasonable format, but apparently the
CDA library has been merged into DecWindows, and only a couple filters
were kept. According to http://www.digital.com/info/SP3131/ the complete CDA
converter kit (for VMS?) can do these conversions, but I can't find the old,
standalone CDA kit anywhere...
I'm very desperate to convert these files. Do you know where
I can get the old separate CDA kit (preferably for VMS), or even just
a couple of the converter files, if it is as simple as copying them
into some DecWrite subdirectory? Thank you for your time,

The Answer is :

The CDA converter libraries have been under discussion within Compaq
recently, though the OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position to predict
when (or if) the converter libraries would be available from Compaq.
